Ancillary office areas are to be transformed into storage areas, and internal alterations on the first floor will provide circulation corridors.

Further changes are proposed to internal staircases, lifts and at other parts of the building.

Plans for expansion of PepsiCo's Little Island base

Elsewhere, plans for a major expansion of PepsiCo Ireland's Little Island base have been revealed.

An application has been submitted to Cork County Council by Portfolio Concentrate Solutions UC ("PepsiCo Ireland") proposing the construction of an expansion of its existing production and warehouse building at the Little Island Industrial Estate.

It is seeking permission to construct some 12,207 sq m of floor space over four levels in a building of a maximum height of some 28.21 m.

It also proposes the addition of a new site entrance, workshop cabins, a communications building, and the relocation of some parking spaces to allow for the works.

Meanwhile, a well-known Cork school has been granted permission to construct a new standalone sports hall.

Hamilton High School, located at Allen Square in Bandon, has received permission from Cork County Council for the construction of a 539.1 sq m standalone sports hall, including a first- floor mezzanine.
