It’s a snip: celebrity stylist Wayne Lloyd’s Ballydehob hair salon is for sale for €475,000

HEADTURNING hairdresser Wayne Lloyd has put his Ballydehob salon up for sale for €475,000, as he prepares to relocate overseas.

However the three times winner of the World’s Best Stylist intends to retain his Bandon hair salon, where his VIP clients can continue to enjoy the hairdressing flair that has garnered him 24 gold medals, and his team 250 awards, over a more than 40-year career.
“While myself and my husband [Ron Lehane] are going to live between Spain and Eastbourne, in the UK, I will be flying back to look after my VIP clients in Bandon every three weeks. These are people who have been loyal clients to me over the years,” Mr Lloyd said.
The British couple opened their Ballydehob salon on Main Street in 2007, at a premises adjoining the building they are now in, The Cornstore, which was derelict at the time.
After their landlord restored the landmark building “we were his first port of call”, Mr Lloyd said.
The pair moved to West Cork for a quiet life in 2007, but the reverse happened, as Mr Lloyd’s career took off. Awards came thick and fast – thrice winner of Ireland’s Hairdresser of the Year, being one of very many.
While non-disclosure agreements keep him schtum vis-a-vis celebrity clients, he reveals that he has worked with Greek-Irish model Georgia Salpa and he’s given a haircut to Eastenders’ actress Kat Slater.

His Ballydehob premises is fro sale with Niamh Moloney of Sherry FitzGerald O’Neill. A three-storey building in a central location, the 270 sq m former cornstore includes ground floor commercial and two fully equipped overhead apartments.

The 107 sq m salon has 10 hairdressing seats, is in turnkey condition and available immediately on vacant possession. It includes a new bathroom/kitchen area.

On the first floor, a one-bed apartment includes a spacious kitchen/living room and a shower room.

A top floor penthouse apartment has a second bedroom.

Ms Moloney says the building “has the advantage of each floor having its own electricity supply and separate entrance”. She adds that the floors are concrete and that the building energy rating is a C3.
