Cork cybersecurity firm Smarttech247 to add 50 jobs amid demand for services

Smarttech247 chief executive Raluca Saceanu said the company was 'poised to scale our operations globally while continuing to innovate and lead in the cybersecurity space' through these new contracts.
Cork-based cybersecurity firm Smarttech247 has announced it will hire 50 additional people as growth continues in international markets amid heightened demand.
The 50 jobs will bring the company’s workforce to more than 200 and half of the new roles are set to be based in Ireland while the rest will be based in company offices elsewhere.
The new roles are spread across positions in technical support, sales, marketing, and partner support.
The announcement coincides with the firm’s launch of a new route to market, focusing on contracts that will allow for rapid expansion and provide services for customers across Ireland, the UK, the US, and the Middle East.
It is unclear what contracts they have secured in these markets but cybersecurity issues have gained momentum recently due to geopolitical issues.
Smarttech247 chief executive Raluca Saceanu said the company was “poised to scale our operations globally while continuing to innovate and lead in the cybersecurity space” through these new contracts.
Currently, the company already has operations in Romania, Poland, the UK and the US.
“This is a Europe-wide issue and thanks to my time as a senior cabinet minister, I’m acutely aware of the complex cybersecurity challenges facing public and private sector organisations,” said Ireland’s nominee for the country’s next EU commissioner, and Cork South Central TD Michael McGrath.
Previous research from Smarttech247 suggested cybersecurity instances have jumped substantially during and since the pandemic years. The increased dependence on tech and the shift to remote working practices may have contributed to this.
