St Finbarr’s will know their SE Systems Cork senior camogie championship final opponents on Thursday night when defending champions Sarsfields face off against Glen Rovers in Páirc Uí Rinn (8pm).
On Saturday in Castle Road, the Barrs had no problem getting over the line when defeating Cloughduv in their last four, after the mid Cork side knocked them out at the quarter-final stage last year.
With seven different players contributing to a final scoreline of 1-22 to 0-12, the Togher club can look forward to the showdown on Sunday, October 13.
County senior Orlaith Cahalane again emerged as one of their pivotal figures with 1-7 - her goal, a tremendous solo effort, arrived in the second half after her side had gone to the dressing-room 0-14 to 0-7 up.
County colleague Sorcha McCartan and Nicole Olden shared 10 points, while Hannah O’Leary bagged a brace.
Cloughduv did make their presence felt in the third quarter when they narrowed the gap to four points, 0-15 to 0-11, Lisa Lynch their chief scorer who finished with nine points.
But St Finbarr’s have quality players all over the field and that was telling. In Meábh Cahalane, Aisling Egan and goalkeeper Ciara Hurley they are strong defensively as well.
