Buyers expected to prey on Waterford's Holy Cross pub in €700k bar sale

The edge-of-city Waterford bar, The Holy Cross, is up for sale for owners who have had it for 30 years.

“A pub of this stature has not been brought to the market locally for a long times”, say selling agents Des Purcell, and bars specialist Tony Morrissey of Lisney.

Set beside Butlerstown GAA Club and close to the IDA Business and Technology Park, as well as the Whitfield private hospital, The Holy Cross has been owned and operated by the well-known Bobby and Eileen Bohill, who are set to retire, having built up a strong food and beverage trade as well as earning a reputation as a venue for private functions, say the joint agents.

They guide the traditional-style, enlarged premises — which can accommodate 140 patrons, at €700,000 — and it stands on an acre with good parking and accessibility, by the Cork Rd and Holy Cross Rd, near the N25. Also close-by is the South East Technological University (SETU) campus.
