Deep, rich and earthy; this season’s burgundy and wine-adjacent hues are having a bona fide moment.

I like to think it’s the mystery. Unlike attention-seeking red, burgundy doesn’t have to try too hard.

Sophisticated and worldly, it gets better with age. Not only does it hold its own, but it pairs beautifully with hues, like pink and teal, as well as and neutrals like khaki, taupe, grey and high-contrast white.

As the mercury drops and light dims, it makes sense that cosy coats and sweaters garner most of the attention. That’s not to say, it’s all fireside chic.

There’s a roll call of trend-led pieces and wardrobe staples that’ll see you in stylish stead. Here are some of the highlights.
