Fashion is in its green era. Of that, there is no doubt.

For several seasons now, iterations of the hue, from lime to slime, have proven their popularity, with this summer’s ‘brat’ moniker making us crave its yellow-tinged brethren.

Spoiler alert: nothing has changed. With parties pending, prepare for playful shades like chartreuse, pistachio, apple and avocado to replace deeper winter favourites.

Leave forest for the Christmas trees. It’s time for something lighter and brighter.

The trick to pulling off this unusual shade rests in your partner picker.

As a rule of thumb, keep to neutrals like navy, black and grey with a high-contrast pop of white in a top to lift the complexion and avoid appearing washed out.

Likewise, warm neutrals (think coffee and cream) soften any look, especially in textures like borg and faux fur.

For something more impactful, try opposite or complementary shades on the colour wheel.

Apple green and chartreuse, for example, partner with steel blue, violet or trending burgundy.

If in doubt, execute the TikTok ‘outfit sandwich’ hack—matching a waist-up item to the colour of one’s shoes for style cohesion. The middle is up to you.
