Read, see, make and do: This week's must-haves

The Dyson Solarcycle Morph lamp offers technology aimed at supporting our body clock. The daylight tracking technology.

Once upon a time, householders kept livestock indoors to keep their homes — and the animals — toasty. Granted, the Woolly Wiggle, €850, framed, won’t do the same thing but neither will this shapely sheep leave a mess for you to clean up.
Bríd Fanning's painting will feature at Art Source in the RDS, which opens on Friday, November 15, at 11am and runs until November 17. Bríd, based in Oldcastle, Co Meath, switched her focus from the corporate sector, where she worked for over two decades, to art, to express her love of colour and texture through her subject matter of people, animals and landscapes. Ireland’s largest art fair will also present pristine prints of Andy Warhol’s iconic Marilyn series alongside work at all price points by hundreds of Irish and international artists.

Similar to the disruptions experienced when travelling across different time zones, the adjustment to clocks going back can disrupt our internal body clock and sleep patterns. Our bodies naturally synchronise with the natural light-dark cycle, and sudden changes in clock times and sleep patterns can lead to feelings of fatigue. The Dyson Solarcycle Morph lamp offers technology aimed at supporting our body clock. The daylight tracking technology automatically adjusts the lighting to reduce blue light in the mornings and evenings, helping to regulate our sleep patterns and boost our mood. Personalised via the Dyson Link App, the Dyson Lightcycle Morph, priced from €550, intelligently adjusts the light it emits depending on the user’s task, age, mood and local daylight.

Anyone already ticking off items on the festive shopping lists will likely have plans to — if they haven't done so already — hit the streets of the nearest big town or city. The latter are the focus of the latest publication by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland.
