The 19 acres 'is in one field,' says selling agent John O’Connell.

A 19-acre parcel of land in North Cork is new to the market with Mallow-based O’Connell Auctioneers.

The property is in the townland of Rowls, approximately 11km north of the busy market town of Newmarket and close to the Limerick border.

This is an area steeped in the tradition of industrious modest-sized farming and the cradle of the national co-operative movement that was so important to the development of Ireland’s dairy industry into a global agri-food industry.

“It’s in one field,” says selling agent John O’Connell. “It’s all under grass at the moment and it was re-seeded recently.

“There’s a crush and a holding gate in it and there’s a roadway running right through it and it comes with a public water supply.”

Access is via a wide access point and a gateway directly from the public road and the village of Meelin, with its range of amenities, is 4km away. Kanturk is 20km to the southeast of the holding.

The price guide is €10,000 per acre — a reasonable amount for the level of quality and its location. According to John, there is already an offer on the table.
