43-acre holding on Limerick/Cork border guiding in excess of €300k

A 42.9-acre farm is new to the market with Colman O’Kelly Auctioneers in Dromcolliher, Co Limerick.
The property is in the townland of Barnagrane, close to the Cork border and roughly equidistant (3km) from Dromcolliher and Broadford. It contains grassland and mature forestry plantation.
“There are just under 21 acres of excellent ground,” says Mr O'Kelly. “It’s as good as you’ll find anywhere else in the parish — a lovely sheltered piece of ground mostly facing south-east... The previous owner planted the remainder in 2007.”
The holding, therefore, will suit a number of people, with its mixture of uses. There are no longer any premiums on the forestry section but there is a considerable harvest of timber. Moreover, the excellent biodiversity will suit certain farmers.
The lands are well-fenced and sheltered and there is mains electricity and water supply, making it a ready-to-go high-quality piece of pasture.
“There has been good interest in it so far,” says Mr O'Kelly, who is quoting a price guide in excess of €300,000 for the farm. Given the pastureland could fetch €300,000 on its own (€15,000/acre), the guide seems like a reasonable one.
