Contraband worth €332,000 seized in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare

Contraband worth €332,000 has been seized by Revenue in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare this week.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and included around 11.6kg of herbal cannabis worth €233,000.
Over 2,000 Tapentadol, Diazepam, Alprazolam and Zopiclone tablets with an estimated value of €4,100 were also seized.
Officers also discovered 238g of butane honey oil worth €4,800, and various quantities of other illegal drugs with a combined value of around €1,000.
The drugs originated in the USA, the UK, Canada, Thailand, and The Netherlands, and the parcels were destined for various addresses across the country.

As well as the drugs, 205 counterfeit goods of assorted brands, with an estimated value of €79,000 were also seized.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights.
Some 8,400 cigarettes of assorted brands, with an estimated value of €7,600, were also discovered.
They represent a potential loss to the Exchequer of around €6,000.
And finally, around 210 litres of alcohol, worth €2,600, and representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €1,400, was also recovered.
Investigations into all seizures are currently ongoing.
