The ‘Rev’ Richard Coles, who has stolen the hearts of fans since entering the jungle, is set to return to Cork next summer.
The retired reverend and former member of The Communards shot to popularity on the show with viewers commending his ‘sweet’ nature and willingness to take on the challenges that jungle life has thrown at the contestants.
An author and co-host of the podcast, Richard is a man of many talents — some of which he has kept a little more quiet.
He has already shown viewers of the popular reality television show that he can dig into unusual dishes, having completed two eating challenges on this series, but what viewers might not know is that Richard is a real foodie.
Earlier this year, he took part in one of Ballymaloe Cookery School’s short courses and is set to return to East Cork for next year’s Ballymaloe Festival of Food.
A spokesperson for Ballymaloe Cookery School said: “Richard Cole is joining us at next year's Ballymaloe Festival of Food, after having taken part in one of our Cookery School short courses earlier this year.
We are delighted to have Richard with us. He will be joining us in the Ballymaloe Drawing Room hosting interviews, on the Scoop and a Yarn stage with Dee Laffin and joining in on a panel discussion on the Grainstore Main Stage.
The Ballymaloe Festival of Food is a three-day festival jam-packed with activities, talks and workshops designed to inspire and educate food enthusiasts of all ages.
Industry experts will delve into various aspects of food production, sustainability, and culinary techniques from Friday, May 16 to Sunday, May 18, 2025.
