Three men have been arrested as part of an investigation into a string of burglaries across the country.

On Friday night, a high-powered car was stopped in Enfield, Co Meath, and a large sum of cash was seized, along with a number of items used to carry out burglaries.

During the course of the search, three men, one aged in his 30s, one in his 20s, and another a teenage juvenile, were arrested.

They are currently being held at Garda stations in the east of the country under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2006.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
