Bridgerton actor Calam Lynch joins Limerick film set

After Robert Sheehan and Liam Neeson, a Bridgerton actor is the latest screen star to be spotted on set in Limerick.
Calam Lynch is currently in the city for the major feature
, which is being filmed in the former Royal Cinema in Limerick.The actor is known for his role as Eloise’s love interest in
season two and more recently, for playing AJ in dark comedy — alongside Ella Purnell.For the first time, he will be sharing the screen with Normal People’s India Mullen and with his mother, Niamh Cusack — who played alongside Neeson in
(2023) and is best know for her role in British series .To facilitate the production, the former cinema on Cecil Street has been partly revamped.
Set in 1980s Ireland,
is a loving tribute to the cinema experience, starring Colin Morgan ( , , ) as the manager of a small-town cinema who struggles to keep the peace on a chaotic Friday night at the pictures.The feature is directed by Limerick writer and director David Gleeson, who wrote and directed
, the first feature film to be shot entirely in the city in 2003.Producer from Wide Eye Films, Nathalie Lichtenthaeler, said: “We are delighted to be back in Limerick and to breathe life back into the Royal for our new feature film
— just a few metres away from David’s first bedsit."We have been working closely with Film in Limerick, LCETB and the Council in Limerick to bring everything together for the film and have been able to hire a majority of our crew locally and to engage local businesses to provide services for the production.
"We look forward to a successful shoot and to returning to Limerick to screen the film next year.”
The feature will complete principal photography in the city this December, after a call for extras was made for Limerick people to join the cast on set.
Recently, Limerick has been chosen as a film location by several major productions. Earlier this week, Liam Neeson was also in the city to film dark comedy heist, .
