Woman, 50s, dies in Wexford crash

A woman aged in her 50s has died following a crash in Co Wexford.

The incident, involving a car and a pedestrian, happened on the N25 at Stokestown at approximately 7.10pm on Sunday. 

The woman, a pedestrian, was fatally injured in the crash. No other injuries were reported.

The local coroner has been notified and arrangements are now being made for an autopsy.

The N25 Eastbound road remains closed as of Monday morning and local diversions are in place through New Ross town. 

A technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators is due to take place later this morning.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses. Any road users with camera footage who were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
