Man arrested after €50k worth of cannabis and cocaine seized in Cork

The seized drugs by Gardaí in Midleton.

A man has been arrested after more than €50,000 worth of drugs were seized in Cork on Friday night.

A search was conducted by officers attached to the Cork County Divisional Drugs Unit at a residence in Midleton.

Cannabis valued at €40,000 and cocaine worth an estimated €10,850 was seized at the property.

An adult male, aged in his teens, was arrested at the scene. 

A garda spokesperson said that he is currently detained at a Cork Garda Station.

They added: "The drugs seized will now be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for further analysis.

"Investigations ongoing."
