Garda probe after man found dead in house in Cork City

Gardaí are investigating the death of a man found in a house in Cork city early on Sunday.
The man, who was in his 50s, was discovered in a property on Dominic Street at around 1am.
A garda statement said: “Gardaí in Cork city are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a male, at a residential property on Dominic Street, Cork City in the early hours of this morning Sunday 8th December, 2024.”
It continued: ”Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the incident at 1am approximately. The man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene, and his body remains at the scene which is currently preserved.”
A post mortem is to take place “in due course”, according to gardaí.
