Man charged with murdering his daughter in Wexford further remanded in custody

A man has been further remanded in custody having been charged with the murder of his daughter in New Ross, Co. Wexford.
Mohammad Shaker Al Tamimi, with an address of Lower William Street, New Ross, has also been charged with the attempted murder of the girl's mother.
The 34-year-old man is charged with the murder of his eight-year-old daughter, Malika Noor Al Katib at Lower William Street, New Ross, on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Malika died in University Hospital Waterford from her injuries on Monday morning, December 2, 2024.
Tamini is also charged with the attempted murder of the mother of the child, Aisha Al Katib, also on the Sunday night.
The accused appeared via video link before Judge John Cheatle at Wexford District Court on Monday morning.
Sgt Victor Isdell applied for a further adjournment to allow for the preparation of the Book of Evidence. He asked for a one-week adjournment to allow for Director of Public Prosecutions directions.
Solicitor for the accused, Mr Timothy Cummings, said there were no objections to the application.
The accused was remanded in custody to appear via video link at Wexford District Court on Monday, December 16.
