Gardaí continue probe after man found unconscious in West Cork

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who noticed anything unusual to come forward.
Gardaí are continuing their investigations into how a man found hypothermic in a tent in West Cork had sustained a number of serious injuries.
The man’s condition has improved slightly but he remains in a serious condition at Cork University Hospital on Friday.
The man, who is originally from Poland, was sleeping in a tent with another man on the outskirts of Clonakilty, on the Inchydoney Road, for close to two weeks.
He was found unconscious in the tent by a garda who was in the area late on Wednesday night.
A Garda source said: “A garda who was checking up on something else in the area went to the tent and found the man unconscious. He was hypothermic, which was the biggest problem.”
It is not known for sure how long the man was unconscious.
While it is apparent the man had suffered a number of injuries, gardaí are trying to establish if they are linked to why he was found in such an unwell state on Wednesday night or if they occurred some days earlier.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal to the public for witnesses.
They are particularly interested in dashcam or mobile phone footage from the Youghals area of Inchydoney Road between Friday, November 22, and Wednesday morning, November 27.
Investigating gardaí said many people use the area as a walking route and are also appealing to any pedestrian who noticed anything unusual to come forward.
